Due to covid19 disruptions we haven’t done a lot of travel lately, even though we are free-er than any country on Earth. The threat of lock-down at an hour’s notice lingers. Indeed just a couple of days before we headed North there was a single case in the community.
We had dinner at “The Duke” for a couple of evenings, mostly due to the view – the food has dropped off a notch.
Sunsets were as good as ever.
We went boogie-boarding at Long Beach, even though the waves were pretty poor.
Mina and Chris took a walk up to the flag-staff. This flag-staff was central to New Zealand’s early history, with battles fought in order to fell it.
The walk back has great views of Russell.
The tide was in, so we had to climb around the rocks.
One night a fire about 50km away generated a smoke cloud.
