Getting to Mount Solaro from the Blue Grotto: Instead of taking the boat back to the Grand Marina, get off on land, right next to the Blue Grotto. Walk up the steps. At the top of the steps will be a bus stop. Take the bus to Piazza Vittoria. This is where you get on the Mount Solaro chairlift. To get back to the Grand Marina, take the bus from Piazza Vittoria to the Grand Marina.

Getting around

...if arriving by ferry you would need to walk up through the narrow pedestrian streets from the harbour to Piazza Mulini from where the local bus - Montepertuso/Nocelle departs at 20 minutes PAST each hour. You can buy tickets from the driver but it is cheaper if you are intending to use the bus a few times during your stay, to get a few from the Tabacchi shop across from the bus stop next to the bakery..

This bus will travel up through Positano, to the upper part, continue up the mountain road to Montepertuso and terminate in Nocelle, where it will turn around in the car park.

Alternatively should you be arrving on the SITA service from Sorrento you will need to get off in upper Positano - Chiesa Nuova/Bar Internazionale, cross over the road and wait at the Fermata adjacent to the Bar for the bus as detailed above to arrive from down in lower Positano. You can buy bus tickets in the Bar Internazionale.
