FRIED PRAWN WITH SESAME SEEDS recipe

Ingredients
- Oil, for deep frying
- 12 large prawns, deheaded, peeled, tail left on, & de-veined
For the batter
- 15g plain flour
- 1 egg
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 tbs. sesame seeds
For the dipping sauce
- 3 tbs. light soy sauce
- ½ tsp. sugar
- 5-6 coriander leaves, chopped
Procedure
- In a bowl, mix the flour & salt.
- Break the egg into the mixture & mix thoroughtly.
- Add 225ml water & sesame seeds gradually, whisking constantly.
- You should have thick, creamy batter.
- Heat oil until light haze appears.
- Dip each prawn into the batter, ensuring it is well coated, and drop into the hot oil.
- Deep fry until golden brown.
- Remove from the oil, drain & place on a serving dish.
- To make the dipping sauce, mix the soy sauce with sugar & chopped coriander leaves in a small bowl.
- Serve with the the prawns
