We took at Waitangi Day trip to Muriwai which was a good opportunity to test the GoPro and Rx100 cameras.
Maori Bay, next to Muriwai, is a spot I used to go boogie-boarding a lot. There’s a cave at one end of the beach you can walk through when the tide is low.

Above the cave is a gannet colony, with a couple of look-outs over them. The smell isn’t too bad if the wind is up.

Past the gannet colony is Muriwai Beach which stretches way up the coast.
As far as free activities go this one’s pretty good.
Both cameras gave excellent results. However I had the GoPro set to 30/60fps and the RX100 set to 25, so mixing the footage looked pretty bad. Unfortunately it seems phones can only be set to 30/60fps, so for our travels it really looks like we’ll need to get another camera as I’d really rather stick to 25/50fps to get around lighting issues.
